Stage 12: When To Start Training?

Simple: as far out as possible.

If you’re considering doing an Everesting, then the chances are that you’re already a keen and active cyclist and while it is true that you can’t train specifically for 20+ hours in the saddle, you can do everything in your control to make sure you are in peak physical condition when you start the counter at 0m.

Depending on your base fitness, you should aim to give yourself at least 3 months focussed, responsible and disciplined training which needs to be tapered down to ensure that you arrive on the start line as strong and as fresh as possible.
